Beech Avenue, Badbury Rings

This wonderful avenue of beeches has gone past its prime and is steadily losing whole trees or limbs. Supposed to have been planted by Napoleonic prisoners of war, they have lasted a considerable time and now another row of trees has been planted futher back and eventually the avenue will regain its former glory. One of the most-used pictures I have taken.
