Ackling Dyke, Poppies
Ackling Dyke, Poppies

There are good years and bad years for poppies which seem to be high on list of subjects that photographers travel to capture. They seldom ever appear in the same place twice. Apparently poppy seed can lie dormant in the soil for at least 7 years. This is near Ackling Dyke, the old Roman road that runs from Badbury Rings to Old Sarum. and even today this section probably looks little different than when Vespasin and his Legions marched this way.
